Several players who have participated in The Rugby Academy programs have been rewarded with selection in Southcoast Schoolboy under 15 and under 18 representative teams. Academy Head Coach Grant Anderson said “It is great to see these players selected in the Southcoast teams. There are some really talented players on the Gold Coast and to be selected in a squad of 22 is a testament to the hard work and development of the Academy boys.”
Selected in the Southcoast under 15 are Nick Ray, Charlie Wells, Jamison Qurik, Chase Perkins, Nic White and Harrison Jurgs as a shadow player.
Tyler Harris, Tylor Bunting and Ty Jones have been selected in the Southcoast under 18 team.
Southcoast Schools is the highest level of schoolboy rugby in the region. The under 15 and under 18 teams will compete in the Queensland State Schoolboy Championships later this year. “These players deserve their spot in these teams. They are not there just to make up numbers and I believe they will really perform at the State Championships. Everyone involved in the Academy wishes them all the best.” said Anderson.
